Residents in the Coffee Bluff area of Savannah are under a precautionary boil water advisory after a City water main was damaged by a private contractor. The advisory affects customers on Daveitta Drive, Country Walk Circle, and Country Walk Drive, located off Coffee Bluff Road.

City crews have been working on site throughout the day to repair the damaged water main. Water service is expected to be restored for impacted homes by the end of the day. Following completion of repairs, approximately five hours of system flushing will take place in the affected area.

The City’s Water Resources team will begin microbiological testing immediately after flushing is complete. This testing is part of standard protocol and aims to minimize how long the Boil Water Advisory remains in effect.

Customers within the affected area are instructed to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and preparing baby formula until notified that it is safe. According to city instructions: “Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use.”

The advisory will remain until public health officials or the City of Savannah confirm that water quality has been fully restored. Residents will then be advised when it is safe to resume normal water use.

People living near but outside the shaded affected area—specifically south of Felt Drive in Coffee Bluff/Rose Dhu—may notice discoloration in their tap water. These residents are encouraged to flush each faucet for 5-10 minutes or until water runs clear.

Further updates on this situation will be posted at savannahga.gov/wateradvisory.
