The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced an organizational realignment aimed at supporting the administration’s goals for energy policy and national security. The move is intended to enhance DOE’s capacity to expand domestic energy production, advance scientific and technological leadership, and maintain the safety and readiness of the nation’s nuclear weapons stockpile.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright stated, “Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, the Energy Department is aligning its operations to restore commonsense to energy policy, lower costs for American families and businesses, and ensure the responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. These changes will help us better execute the DOE mission of delivering affordable, reliable and secure American energy for the American people.”

The realignment reflects ongoing efforts by federal agencies to adapt their structures in support of executive branch priorities.
