Brent Meyer has been named vice president and senior economist in the Research Division at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, with the appointment effective as of December 16, 2025.
In his new position, Meyer will maintain strategic leadership for the Economic Survey Research Center. He will also increase his involvement in advising on monetary policy for the Sixth District and contribute to setting the overall direction for the Research Division as part of its leadership team.
Meyer began his career at the Federal Reserve in 2006 as a research associate at the Cleveland Fed. He has since served in several positions including economic analyst, senior economic analyst, and economist. In 2013, he joined the Atlanta Fed as an economist and later held various policy adviser roles before being promoted to vice president and senior economist in 2021.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Hillsdale College in Michigan and a master’s degree in economics from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
