IAM Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen and other union leaders recently visited Alaska Airlines Cargo facilities and met with mechanics from both Alaska and Hawaiian airlines in Seattle and Hawaii.

During these meetings, Johnsen addressed the upcoming representation election involving the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Union and the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA). The election is a result of the ongoing merger between Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines. Johnsen responded to questions from members about the process, stating: “I challenge AMFA to a debate. I am willing to meet at any time, any where to discuss issues at stake for the workforce.”

A video with highlights of these discussions is available.
