Georgia Insurance Commissioner John King visited Savannah as the first stop in a statewide effort to inform residents about the open enrollment period for Georgia Access. The Savannah Area Chamber collaborated with Commissioner King and his team to organize a roundtable discussion focused on how the program affects individuals and small businesses.

During the event, participants discussed the importance of providing clear and reliable information about health coverage options to Georgians. The conversation also addressed the role that local businesses play in helping employees and families access these resources.

Commissioner King provided updates regarding Georgia’s transition to a fully state-based health insurance exchange. He outlined ongoing efforts leading up to the next open enrollment period, which concludes on December 15. According to King, “Georgia Access is focused on making the process simpler, strengthening outreach, and ensuring Georgians can confidently choose the coverage that fits their needs.”

King expressed appreciation for Chamber members who attended the roundtable, noting their engagement through questions and suggestions.
