The International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) will hold its biennial convention in New Orleans from November 18 to 20, 2025. The event will feature community service activities, networking receptions, the ILCA awards ceremony, and a schedule of panels and workshops. The specific theme for this year’s convention will be announced at a later date.
The ILCA provides support for labor communicators throughout North America and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO. DeLane Adams, Assistant Communications Director of the IAM Union, currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer for the organization.
The IAM Communications Department, along with its districts and locals, has received recognition over the years at the ILCA Labor Media Awards Contest. This contest is noted as being the largest and longest-running competition focused on labor communications in North America. It aims to highlight high standards in journalism within the field.
For 2024, several IAM Union representatives were named as winners of ILCA awards. Angela Colaizzi was honored with the Max Steinbock Award for “NLRB Takes Down Union Buster.” Ashley Mumford and the IAM Journal Team earned third place for Best Print Publication for their Summer 2023 issue. Ross Olson received third place for Best Design – Single Issue Publication.
Previous conventions have provided opportunities for labor communications professionals to share best practices across North America.
Registration for the upcoming ILCA Convention is open to all interested parties; membership is not required to attend.
