Leadership Savannah recently held a program day focused on the impact of history, hospitality, and storytelling in shaping the city’s future.
The event started at the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum. Vaughnette Goode Walker and Mercedes Arnold spoke to participants about stories of courage and progress.
Later, at the Georgia State Railroad Museum, Joe Marinelli from Visit Savannah and Kelvin Moore from the Savannah Convention Center discussed the importance of tourism and hospitality for Savannah’s economy.
Participants then took a guided Old Town Trolley tour through the historic district. Afterward, they attended a panel at the AC Hotel with Whip Triplett, Michael Owens, and Mia Mance. The panelists shared their perspectives on workforce development, the future of tourism, and community growth.
The day ended with a rooftop reception at Lavender where attendees had time to reflect and connect.
“Leadership Savannah was reminded that our history grounds us, our tourism industry fuels us, and our people inspire us every step of the way,” according to organizers.
