Members of District 77 in Minnesota participated in Unity One Credit Union’s annual Toys for Tots drive, continuing their tradition of supporting local families during the holiday season. Locals 737 and 459 approved funding motions that provided a substantial portion of this year’s donations, which helped ensure the drive had a meaningful effect on children in the area.
The members took action by shopping for toys and delivering them in a truck loaded with gifts. The total value of toys donated exceeded $1,600 and will be distributed to families in need this season.
“IAM District 77 and its locals came together to make a difference for families during the holidays,” said IAM Midwest Territory General Vice President Sam Cicinelli. “Their effort speaks volumes about who we are as a union. I’m proud of the work our members continue to do in their communities.”
“Supporting Toys for Tots reflects the spirit of solidarity our members show all year,” said IAM Local 737 President Eric Jorgensen. “Locals 737 and 459 didn’t just contribute funds, they put in the time, energy, and heart to make sure kids in our community feel the joy of the season. I’m proud of the generosity our members continue to demonstrate.”
District 77 stated that giving back is an important part of its identity and expressed pride in helping bring happiness to local families during the holidays.
