Savannah residents have several opportunities to participate in community events as part of the ongoing 912 Day celebrations this week. The series of activities is designed to foster civic pride and highlight the city’s sense of connection.
Events scheduled for this week include a fundraiser at Ardsley Station on September 9, organized by Savannah Master Calendar, and the Taste of the 912 Luncheon hosted by the Savannah Downtown Business Association at Charles H. Morris Center on September 10. On September 12, East Savannah will host the 912 Block Beautification Project with support from Amazon and HouseProud. The festivities will culminate on September 13 with a family reunion event at SSU Wright Stadium, presented by Cumulus Media.
Ongoing initiatives throughout September include Comcast/Xfinity’s retail activations under “September in Savannah,” as well as a coloring and essay contest running through September 11 involving SCCPSS, WSAV, and the Chamber. Additionally, local businesses are participating in a Buy Local Shop 912 campaign from September 12 to 14.
Organizers emphasize that each event showcases what makes Savannah unique and encourages residents to take part with friends, family, or colleagues to strengthen community bonds. According to organizers: “Each event highlights what makes Savannah such a unique and connected community. Whether you attend with friends, family, or colleagues, your participation helps strengthen civic pride and support our city’s spirit of togetherness.”
The events aim to bring people together across various interests—from cultural experiences and fitness gatherings to local business promotions—demonstrating broad community involvement.
“Don’t miss the chance to be part of this celebration—come out and join the fun!” organizers added.
