Last week, the Savannah-Georgia Convention Center Authority (SGCCA) completed a $398 million bond transaction to fund the construction of the Signia by Hilton Savannah headquarters hotel. This achievement follows several years of planning and collaboration among various local and state partners.
The SGCCA acknowledged the contributions of Governor Kemp, the Chatham County delegation, the Georgia State Finance & Investment Commission (GSFIC), the City of Savannah, and Chatham County in making this project possible.
Leadership from both SGCCA and the Savannah Convention Center attended the signing event. Participants included Chairman Mark Smith; Chamber President & CEO and SGCCA Secretary Bert Brantley; Senior Vice President & General Manager Kelvin D. Moore; Vice President & Assistant General Manager Al Rojas; as well as attorneys Jon Pannell from Gray Pannell & Woodward LLP and Paul Threkel.
The new hotel is expected to open in summer 2028. An official groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for October 8.
