Public ice-skating sessions will be available to Savannah residents at Enmarket Arena starting Friday, November 7. This initiative is the result of a partnership between the City of Savannah, Oak View Group (OVG), and Zawyer Sports and Entertainment.

Six public skating sessions will be held on opening day, each lasting 45 minutes. The first session begins at 4:30 p.m., with subsequent sessions starting every hour until the last one at 9:30 p.m. Registration is required due to limited availability and can be completed online at savannahga.gov/LaceUp. The cost is $20 for adults and $15 for children aged 12 and under. Members of the Ghost Pirates Fantom Club are eligible for a discount. Skate rental fees are included in the session price, but participants may bring their own skates if they prefer. Hockey sticks and pucks are not permitted during these sessions.

Additional public skating dates are scheduled for December 17, 18, and 22, with more dates expected in January.

Earlier this month, an agreement was established by the City of Savannah with its partners to allow community use of the arena’s ice rink when it is not reserved for Ghost Pirates or OVG events. Under this arrangement, residents can access the facility for youth hockey, adult league hockey, and general public skating.

Enmarket Arena was completed in 2022 as part of a city effort to modernize entertainment facilities and revitalize the Canal District. The arena has a seating capacity of 9,500 and was built at a cost of $165 million funded mainly through SPLOST VI dollars.

Zawyer Sports & Entertainment owns several sports teams including the Savannah Ghost Pirates and manages various venues across different cities. Oak View Group oversees operations at Enmarket Arena as well as other venues globally.

For updates on events from Savannah Ghost Pirates or OVG, residents are encouraged to follow their official social media channels.

“Through all of its teams, Zawyer strives to provide family sports entertainment with an emphasis on quality fan experiences and community engagement!”
