Savannah State University is inviting faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners to take part in a Strategic Planning Open Forum scheduled for Thursday, September 12. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the King-Frazier Student Center on the university’s campus at 3219 College Street in Savannah.
The forum is part of #TheUpRoar, an initiative aimed at shaping the university’s vision and priorities for the coming years. SSU has been a key institution in higher education and the local community for 135 years as Georgia’s first public Historically Black College and University.
“Our goal is to build a plan that truly reflects the hopes and aspirations of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community,” said SSU President Dr. Jermaine Whirl. “We invite everyone with a connection to Savannah State to join us, share their vision, and help chart a clear path forward.”
The session is designed to collect input from various stakeholders as the university develops its next strategic plan. Registration is required for those who wish to attend; more information can be found at https://savannahstate.edu/events/. Additionally, participants are encouraged to complete an anonymous survey intended to gather feedback that will inform SSU’s future direction. The survey can be accessed at https://forms.office.com/r/jGfmYd4qtU.
Savannah State University emphasizes that community involvement is essential in building effective strategic plans and encourages all members of Tiger Nation and the broader Savannah region to contribute their perspectives.
