Last week, construction began on the Signia by Hilton Savannah, a new 444-room hotel that will serve as the headquarters hotel next to the Savannah Convention Center. The project is a collaboration between the Savannah-Georgia Convention Center Authority and Hilton, with an anticipated opening date in mid-2028.

The hotel will include extensive meeting space, several dining options, and a rooftop pool. These amenities are intended to strengthen Savannah’s capacity to host large conferences and events.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by key figures in the local tourism and business community. Among them were Visit Savannah President Joseph Marinelli and Savannah Area Chamber President Bert Brantley. Hospitality and civic leaders joined them in recognizing the significance of the project.
