Karissa Pendleton has been appointed as the new Director of Sports Sales for Visit Savannah and the Savannah Sports Council. In her new role, Pendleton will work to attract additional sporting events to Savannah, with the aim of increasing hotel bookings associated with sports tourism and building relationships with event organizers across the country.

Pendleton brings close to ten years of experience in sports tourism, sales, and event management. Before joining Visit Savannah, she was Sports Sales Manager at Visit Galveston. She also spent five years at the Florida Sports Foundation, where she managed large-scale events, developed industry partnerships, and handled grant procurement.

“Karissa’s extensive background in sports event sales and management aligns perfectly with our goals for future growth,” said Joseph Marinelli, President & CEO of Visit Savannah. “Her enthusiasm, energy, and leadership will be a great addition to our team.”

Pendleton will be based in Savannah and will work closely with local partners to promote the region as a leading sports destination.
